Sweet Milky Bacon....

In case you didn't know, Zeal turned 1 year old the other day. Amazing. So to celebrate this we attended a jam which was kindly hosted by Ben Manual from the olden days, at his skatepark, Pitwheels, in Upton which is really really far away in the Narth.
So Me James, Josh Wiles, Bruza and Mikey - oh wait not Mikey, because Mikey had the sniffles. Waaa, waaaaa. Anyway we went up there in the morning and Mayo met us later with Haggler. The park is in three sections, a main room with a couple of spines, jump box, a selection of vert walls and a hip, a mini ramp room, and a wierd room linking in from the main one with a vertwall, hip, and big slack quarter oppoite a wallride. The whole lot was pretty tight, but well packed in. Quite scary too cos some of it was higher than the rafters which is a bit off putting.

Ben has this place dialled, it's soo good to watch. So for the day we rode, and met some cool people. It was a good vibe with everyone doing their own thing. There are some amazing locals there, Gaz Wilson for one. Fucking hell is all I have to say. He ain't no Andy Hall though (who by the way hasn't really hurt his leg, he's just in it for the sympathy), and Chips. He's a one off for sure.
After riding for ages we went to the local bar, conveniently placed right downstairs. I thought I'd just stepped in to an episode of Phoenix Nights. We'd just missed the hypnotist for christs sake. THE HYPNOTIST?...
So a few of us sampled the local brew, took in the sights, and danced to oops up side your head, while Chips and Mayo (??? Why the hell didn't I realise that was so funny at the time?!) picked up a couple of local ladies. Mayo took them back to the skatepark to teach them how to ride wich was funny, and I nearly had a panic attack when one started using my camera un-supervised. Loads of funny shit happened, we all got a bit fuzzy, and went to bed in a big man pile while watching Till Monkeys Fly. Cheers to Ben for letting us run riot in the skatepark. And Cheers to Hitcher for driving 9500 miles. Want some pics?

Here's a vid I nicked off Zeal

Whatever Yeah?

Right where do I start?... First of all there are some extra pics from Budget Jam in the Media Section which Ride didn't use. Bruza did an awesome write up for Budget and I sent off a few pics. Here's what it looks like....

Forge is off to Canada in a couple of weeks, so as advertised we had a little jam down the log to see him off. Once again Josh did his thing with the timber and constructed a rather nice little kicker which adorned the drive way. The turnout was pretty good, everyone was riding around and having a jolly old time. I snapped a few piccies, up on the Media page.. Forge was the founder of i3MX which many of you may have visited time and time again before the days of Myspace. He will be missed, but I'm sure he will have a swell old time over the pond. Good luck Kris! Just in time for the sort of winter you don't want to fuck with.

On Sunday Me, Dayson, Mayo and Haggler (oh yeah and Roy. Can't forget Roy...) popped over to a secret spot which has been allocated to a rider from the old days who none of you will know.  Currently at the secret location is a foam pit (with the foam still on the way), a dumper truck and not one, but two diggers. Smashing! The best bit about this spot is the fact that you pretty much have to pass through a petting zoo to get there, complete with a load of funny goats and some small horses. More pics to come, but here's some to keep you sweatting.....

Who the hell puts a foam pit in their garden??

Brighton Backyard 2008

You thought the Backyard Jam was all over and done with right? I don't know when the last one happened in Brighton, it was a few years ago I know that much. I popped down to the coast this weekend with Old Man Forge to meet up with Merman, where he said about this backyard setup. So we rode of about 100 miles up hill to this guys house. I was expecting a 4 foot mini. Oh no, this is a proper job. 4 sided 5-6ft (ish) mini with [unfinished] vert wall, wallride and bowled corner. The transitions were tight and that combined with blinding sun in to black shade caused a few mishaps, but it was all good. It was a fun session, so cheers to Rich for allowing us to ride. Check the pics in the Media Section.
After the ramp we hit some street. Merman was shredding (his hands) and I got a sequence of Dunc  - not me, a different one - going pegs 180.
I still can't believe the weather was good!
I almost forgot to mention, we went to see Curst Sons on Friday night. Good ol' country music. Actually amazing.
Don't forget the Jam next weekend!

RIP Kris Forge

(Ride In Parts [of Canada]) that means.Yeah Kristian Forge the fabled BMXer of Farnborough second only to Chet Barrow local hero is skulking off to Canada for ever in a few weeks to live the dream like tree or a pole man. To commemorate this we will be holding the Kris Forge Memorial Jam on Saturday October 18th at Fboro wonderpark. Come down and do some stunts all up on yourself. If anyone has Josh Wiles number i need it asap.
So yeah, if you see

this chap, wish him well.

Sorry about the in jokes.

The weather looks like
this by the way!

Surprise!

Welcome to the new look therollingimage.com. When I first created my website I intended it to be somewhat of a portfolio for all aspects of my photography. In the year or so that I have had Therollingimage I found that I rarely updated the parts that were nothing to do with BMX, so I have shelved them for the moment and made it BMX only. I'm pretty sure that the majority of you lot are only interested in the BMX side of things anyway.

I have created a new media section, so if I have a significant photo update to do you will find it there. As well as photo's up on here you should see the odd video or two from Mike King as well, who's always busy with is camera.

BO!
