Merman visited this weekend which was a nice surprise, so to celebrate we shot a couple of pictures down the old Abbey Blocks. Now you see that shelter which the blocks are under? Well that's made of black glass and is attached to the rest of the building, clad in equally dark coloured glass, and ascends approxiately 10 storeys. While waiting for somebody to use the cashpoint we heard a loud thud, followed by a second thud, followed by a pigeon sized object landing on the floor by the blocks. Initially i thought somebody had thrown an insediary device, then when i realized it was a bird, i thought a pigeon had been purched on the roof and died. as it turns out, it was a juvenile duck (female) who must have ben disorientate and flown in to the side of the building. She appeared stunned but was still alive, so Merlin picked her up after she righted herself and transferred her to a safe location. Good luck birdy!
Anyway, so yeah Merman just wanted to do that nose wheelie so I shot one, then got him to do the one footed one. While at the train station waiting to go home to Brixtaaarrrnn Merman realised his headtube was rather badly cracked which could have just fallen off at any time. Luckyyyy.
You may notice that two of the pics are slighty differently coloured. I just tried out a few things in Photoshop that my friend Morgan fron Canadanadianada showed me. I like 'em. Don't really care what you think
In case your'e interested it's done as follows:
Duplicate background layer twice
Desaturate middle layer
Change top layer to soft light
Then basically i messed with the colour balance on the middle layer a bit and brought the opacity right down. I think i reduced the opacity on the top (soft light) layer too. i dunno, just experimented really. Cheers Morgan!
I do believe it's budget jam this weekend. Tommy Bruzas been working hard on the jumps so it should be a good one! It's over two days too. See ya there!
