Run Awaaayyy!!

Me and Mayo went to Bstoke on sunday to meet up with Bruza. I wanted to take some photo's of him, but more on that later.
I haven't been to Bstoke skatepark for quite a while and since I last went the council have dumped a load of dirt in there. The jumps are still being perfected, and even though they are pretty bumpy they are still rideable. I think they are getting even more dirt in there too to make more stuff. Budget Jam 2009 should be a belter!

Helltrack
L-R: Hollywood Mike Miranda, Rex Reynolds, Cru Jones, Rod Reynolds.

SpecialBasingtoke has a bit of a pikey problem.
After watching Chunky twist the spine with the nose so dipped he was pretty much upside down, we went to the warehouse ramps that the locals made. Unfortunately the building was literally welded shut but after some rooting around Mayo managed sniff out some rotten wooden panels. With Bruzas brute force, a bit of wedging and jimmying, and putting a steel footing through a wall of glass we got in. Though not before hearing a police siren about 2 miles away and legging it like a load of little girls. Amazing. I shot a few pics in there of Bruza and Mayo. I can't put Bruzas up yet, but the Mayo ones are cool. The idea was to icepick that steel cable housing above the shady QP, but it kept on popping him out the wrong way. The outcome wasn't what was planned, but I kind of like the picture anyway.

I took this pic of Ryan last weekend but forgot to put it up. Nothing else much to say really.

Fly Free Little Mikey......

I must first comment on Mikeys lovely video posted below. He’s clearly been busy in his windowless little hole stitching clips of stunts together for months on end to come up with this smashing little number. He really is rather good, if a little pale.

He’s decided that I’m not that fun to blog with anymore and is now fully involved with his new website venture with the Guildford based BMX photographer Sam King (who he may or may not be related to). I think Mikey would like people to think he made the website himself but I’m fairly sure Sam did it. It looks pretty pro, and about 99% more sophisticated than the sooo 2008 rollingimage.

I know what you’re all thinking, Mikey has just used me for everything he can, and now he’s just throwing me to the side like a sweaty sock to choke on his dust. It pretty much is like that actually, but I’m dealing with it. When I first invited Mikey to blog with me he was just coming up, nobody knew who he was and nobody really liked him, least of all me. But the begging letters were just getting beyond a joke, and for the sake of the environment I had to let him have write access. In the however long it’s been since he’s been posting up the odd vid on here Mikey has been seeking global BMX video domination. His popularity among the sort of people who ride UKBikeco frames has doubled, he’s learnt to communicate using actual speech, and he’s even learnt the art of humour (that’s what he calls it anyway). His dress sense has got a bit better, if a little generic, but anything is better than grey peacocks ankle swingers, and he’s got a proper camera bag now instead of carrying his equipment round in a Transformers lunch box. Old habits die hard I suppose.

When Mikey came to meet me in my second largest study, the one with the signed Heather Mills prosthetic leg in a glass cabinet, I could tell by the look on his effeminate face that he was about to deliver a heavy blow. After that was over with he looked up and told me he was leaving me for a younger, more flashy, but undoubtedly rather less dashing website owner. It was the end of something special. I called security and they promptly ejected him.

I feel that without me, Mikey would be literally nothing. I taught him everything he knows about videography, editing, women, home made boobie-traps, you name it. But I feel proud that he is going to bigger and better places. He said he’ll still pop by from time to time though, but I don’t doubt the visits will become fewer and fewer until I’m long forgotten, like a great grandparent in a nursing home.

Farewell Mike King. Go and annoy someone else with your stupid magic trick.

Now go and have a look at FFWDbmx here.

In other news I believe that Basingstoke Skate park now has trails! Currently being shaped by the the locals, the things are legit, and possibly floodlit (i may be wrong on that one) Pics to come hopefully (hint hint Bruza)

Hitcher invited me along to this the other day

I think it's a car show from what I can work out, with drifting and boy racers all over the place. They are having a skate and BMX thing there, but I can't figure out if that's just a demo or a comp or what. I think I read something about it being round one of this years Backyard jams??

Who knows. All I know is I've never been to Newcastle. Ben Hennon is from Newcastle and he's nuts, so Newcastleites must all be nuts, and therefore funny. I think we'll have to get Vienna to provide packed lunches again because I heard they only eat coal up there. Dunno if that's true, just what i heard mate.

For crying out loud!

I'm so over messing about with this website. I was trying to fix it but I've basically forgotten everything about writing code and Dreamweaver seeing as it's been so long since I did an update. I decided once again to put them on the blog before I chucked my computer out the window.

So this is basically a Dayson based update. We've been up Petersfield (Shotgun) trails lately and rebuilt the step up. Dayson was doing some nice 3's and went upside down, this time managing to avoid putting a big hole in his shin (although he did pop it open again at Southwater this weekend.)

Talking of Southwater here he did a couple of the usuals in between making those stupid screamy noises he does, but they looked quite good so got involved with a load of brambles to get a piccy or 2.

I've been hanging out in Brighton a fair bit lately with whoever happens to come along or be there. We hooked up with Brad and Chef who are pretty fun, to get some pics for a thing me and Dayson were working on with Tinhead.

Many things happen in brighton, including gay Nazism, tame eaglets in the house, and Mayo trying to ruin Daysons happy time with an unlucky girl.

Brace yourselves.

I think Mayo owes me a pint. No questions asked.

Nothing to see here

I must apologise for the massive lack of updates of late. I have plenty of stuff to put up right now but I have not had the internet for ages which makes things a bit difficult, and I've been well busy doing other stuff.
So until I put something worthwhile please enjoy these pictures of baby Otters. They're not mine, but you can't realy go wrong with baby otters can you?
